Co-Productions & Rentals
The mission of 18th & Union is to sustain an affordable, inclusive, and intimate space that nurtures art and community.
We are currently accepting proposals for the 2023 calendar season.

We offer two basic production models, which are summarized below.
CO-PRODUCTIONS
This partnership divides responsibilities for presenting a show between you and 18th & Union. This is intended for "portable" performances with minimal production requirements. Your full set, props and costumes must be “strikable” for other events, if needed.
- There is no up-front rent due. Net ticket sales are split 50/50%.
- We take care of house management, ticketing and streaming operations, and run the bar.
- You supply a stage manager and/or board operator.
- A 4-hour block of time is included for a tech rehearsal.
- You create marketing materials and images, and market among your community. We boost the show through our newsletter, social media, and press contacts. For more detailed information on what marketing materials we ask for, take a look.
RENTALS
Weekly & Multi-Week Rental:
If you have a more complicated production, or prefer near-exclusive access to the space, this is the way to go. We orient your team to the space and equipment, and help with questions as needed. You are welcome to bring in a set and rearrange the light plot, as long as everything is restored by the end of your rental.
The current rate is $1,800/week for a 1-2 week rental, and $1,500/week for a rental of 3 weeks or longer. This includes access to streaming equipment and platform. We run the bar and supply a bartender, and you would be responsible for all other staffing, ticketing, marketing, and tech duties. The week is scheduled Monday through Sunday.
Hourly Rentals:
Community Rentals (e.g., rehearsals, meetings, gatherings). No use of stage lights, sound system, or streaming system. $15/hour, 3-hour/$45 minimum. (An additional $15 charge may be applicable if you are a first time renter, to accommodate access and orientation.)
Professional Service Rentals (during non-primetime hours/days; e.g., workshops, photo shoots). Includes use of stage lights and audio equipment. Streaming system not included. $50/hour, with a 3-hour/$150 minimum. (An additional $25 charge may be applicable if you are a first time renter, to accommodate access and orientation.)
Event Rentals. Includes use of stage lights, sound system, and streaming system & platform. Orientation to the space and equipment is included. $350 for the first 4 hours, $50 per additional hour (including set-up and clean-up time).
