1984

February 21 - March 14
Final performances postponed
King County Health Department has instituted restrictions on public gatherings to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. Along with many other performing arts organizations around the Seattle area, this will affect public performances at 18th & Union. Accordingly, performances of George Orwell's 1984 that were scheduled for March 12-14 have been postponed. We haven't confirmed new dates yet, but are hopeful that we'll be able to complete the run in the next 4-6 weeks.
If you hold tickets for the shows on March 12, 13 or 14, you have a couple of choices. If you'd like a refund, please email us at 18thandunionseattle@gmail.com and we'll process it for you. If you would prefer to keep your tickets and use them for future performances you don't need to do anything. We'll contact you as soon as we have alternative dates and will exchange your tickets at that time.
1984 by George Orwell
adapted for the stage by Michael Gene Sullivan
Presented by Radial Theater Project
Based on the iconic novel by George Orwell, 1984 is the story of Winston Smith, an insignificant party member in the giant machine state of Oceania. Physically and mentally under the omnipresent eye of Big Brother, Winston has been caught struggling for scraps of love and freedom in a world awash with distrust and violence. With the brutal "assistance" of four Party Members who reenact scenes from his diary, Winston is forced to confess his Thoughtcrimes before an unseen inquisitor.
